1959 Corvette Convertible

Rare RPO 473 - Power Operating Top!
Asking $79,900

The 1959 Corvette shed the one year only hood and featured significantly less chrome than the ’58. With a noticeable change to the exterior, the ’59 featured only minor changes to the interior. The driver’s gauge was now convex to assist in glare reduction, the seats and door panels featured slight modifications and the passenger now had additional storage beneath the grab handle. 9,620 Corvette were produced in ’59 – all convertibles.

This 1959 Corvette, J59S106320, sports a Snowcrest White exterior over a red interior trim. Featuring an older restoration, the chrome and body work show as if factory new! The previous owner ensured that the car received over $10,000 in services and rebuilds to remain road worthy. With ownership history dating back to 1976, this Corvette has a well-documented history with documentation and records dating to then. A copy of the window sticker and additional documentation is available for viewing.

Perhaps the most unique option on J59S106320 is the highly ahead of its time, RPO 473, a power operated folding convertible top. Powered by hydraulics located in the trunk space, this Corvette was 1 of 661 to sport the $139.9 option.  Above and beyond a power top, this 1959 also features the removable hardtop, giving this C1 the best of both worlds when it comes to protection! In addition to dual tops, this 1959 features the deluxe heater, signal seeking radio, courtesy light, sunshades, and additional options to amount to over $700 in options.

Powered by the base 283 cubic inch motor, this V8 puts out 230 horsepower and it’s mated to 3-speed manual transmission. This 1959 Corvette will be delivered with new tires and a recently completed brake adjustment. J59S106320 is the perfect candidate for a weekend Corvette or classic.
