Michael Yager Jr.
Thanks for visiting MDY Motorcars.

While my biggest passion in the automotive world has always been Corvette. I have always been a petrol head. My father started Mid America Motorworks, one of the largest providers of Corvette parts & accessories in the world. Some of my earliest memories are attending IMSA and SCCA races all across the USA. As a sponsor, we had access to drivers and people that only supercharged my passion for cars and racing!

Fast forward to being a young teen, I started racing go-carts which led to the Skip Barber racing series and then Formula Renault and finally Formula Renault V6. As anyone who has raced open wheel before, the seven figure budgets started to became an issue and I decided to focus on school. I attended DePaul University where I received a degree in Business Administration.

My first job out of college was working at Gold Coast Auto in Chicago, where I learned in ins and outs of the new and used car business, along with navigating a retail environment. An authorized dealer of Maserati, Bentley, Lamborghini, Rolls Royce and Bugatti - it was a constant learning experience! After a few years of selling cars, I left for a brief stint with a private jet company.
After ten plus years in Chicago, I returned to Effingham, IL to work for our family business, Mid America Motorworks. During that time, my passion for Corvettes kicked into another gear and I decided to start buying and selling Corvettes and other sportscars on the side. This eventually led me to start MDY Motorcars.
My focus at MDY Motorcars is to deal with no stories cars. Ideally low mileage, all original and documented. We attempt to keep 2-4 cars in stock at all times and have access to off market cars.
9 Year Old Michael
We had a family friend who cared for a Ferrari 250 GTO who would regularly give it some exercise to our hometown. I always relished the chance to get behind the wheel!
Corvettes 50'th Anniversary
In 2003 I had the privilege to drive CERV 1 around Laguna Seca for demo laps for Corvettes 50'th anniversary celebration. Bob Lutz stopped by to see CERV 1 - which GM would later acquire from our family.
Three Generations
Keeping the third generation on hand to witness our automotive passion is so important to me. Even if Corvette takes a back seat to his love for Ferraris and Mercedes.
